Normally it's a rule that PTO winches out pull Hydraulic winches, but the John Deere 750J/K and 850J/K are unique as they do have 1 hydraulic oversize winch option that can pull more IF you your tractor is equipped with high performance winch hydraulic pump. Getting the right winch to match your dozer is extremely important, and the John Deere mid-sized dozers are no exception. If you choose the durability of the Allied Hyster W6F your tractor must be equipped with a PTO shaft. Normally this PTO shaft is a John Deere option code 7985 which you much have to install the winch. Just like Hydraulic winches require ripper valves, or high performance winch ready hydraulic systems, the W6F requires a PTO option to be install on a John Deere. Since the Deere's PTO shaft is driven off a hydraulic motor and not directly off the engine there is a loss of line pull compared to direct drive PTO tractors.
