The Hyster W12D is still one of the best winches available even though it was origianlly released around the 1980's. For larger D8 class dozers like the CAT 583K, CAT D8K, or equivalent size machines from Deere, Dresser, and Fiat-Allis the W12D is a preferred choice. There are limited options for winches to fit these old tractors and the best thing about the W12D is that most parts are still available. Some of the other options have very limited options to keep them running.

The best/worst operators can break anything though, and things happen. In this case you can see operator found a way to build a lot of heat in the brake and clutch. The life of the winch and components require good cooling and proper installation. Please give us a call if you have any questions.
