The Hyster PTO winch brake winch is one of the best winches in it's weight class and probably the most popular model for logging around the world. We specialize in rebuilding them so they continue to perform at a high level. As you can see in the videos below, rebuilding them correctly is critical. 

There are 2 common failures of the W6F Brake:

- After the winch sits for too long not being used, the spring pressure pushes all the oil out of the brake and fuses all the frictions and plates together. 

- The Paper frictions used in most Allied and Hyster winches offer great performance, but the downside of them is that they don't react well to water and will de-laminate if water or rust starts to form on the plates.
