Historically there has been no economic options to put a winch on small dozers. The release of the Carco H40R a few years ago is a fantastic option for many users the the most cost effective small dozer winch ever made. Originally designed for the CAT and John Deere "K" series dozers, we have had success mounting is on selected other models as well. (CAT D3K, D4K, D5K and Deere 450K, 550K, 650K. The Carco H40R is currently the best option for operators who need a recovery winch for any small dozers.

- Not Recommended for full time production logging

There are more powerful winches, there are faster winches, but nothing beats the bang for buck against the H40R. 

PS - If you have an older dozer equipped with a PTO winch you can get better performance, but the older Carco 30B's and Allied W3C winches have become very hard to find and certain parts have been discontinued.
