The Allied W6G shares many components with the legendary W6F winch, but has been redesigned with new features to meet the requirements of changing industries. Operators working in pipeline construction, heavy excavation, or the oil and gas exploration industries prefer the W6G features. When equipped with slow speed 103:1 ratio or the super slow 153:1 ratio, the W6G offers huge line pull capacity bare drum and full drum. These winches are arguably only limited in pulling power by the breaking strength of the wire rope. The PTO winch delivers nearly 100 percent of the dozer horsepower to the wire rope, permitting both high line pull and high line speed (depending on ratio) as needed for a wide variety of applications, all with no heat load to the dozer hydraulic system. The biggest advantage of the W6G compared to other winches available in this class is unmatched pulling power as the drum fills with rope.
The W6F and W6G both offer fantastic winch class pulling power for line in, but the major design change with the W6G is the addition of equal speed gearing meaning the line in and line out speeds are the same. This equal speed feature of the W6G becomes critical if the winch will be used letting loads down hillsides in yo-yo work. The slow and super slow speed options in addition with GENII electronic controls allow operators previously unmatched line control for a PTO winch. If you want faster line out speeds for logging type applications with higher cycle times we can still help you with a W6F forestry winch, but for many of the heavy construction trades the W6G is a better choice with better control, equal speed ratios, super high in class line pull, and slow speed gearing.
